The Transport and Logistics Centre (TALC) is an independent national not-for-profit company limited by guarantee whose aim is to assist the Transport and Logistics (T&L) sector of the Australian economy to improve its capacity in terms of attraction, recruitment, education, retention,  career and professional development; as well as business facilitation and the creation of an on-line commercial marketplace (TILIS). TALC has commenced a programme in conjunction with a number of Industry Associations to implement professional development pathways and accreditation programmes to raise the profile and learning in the professions.

The programmes include the Certified Transport Planner - CTP and Certified Professional Logistician - CPL

The call for submissions by Infrastructure Australia prompted TALC to offer the TILIS collaborative infrastructure idea as the backbone for a national industry e-collaboration framework.

TALC TO DELIVER INTERNATIONAL COURSES IN LOGISTICS

TALC has been granted a licence to deliver internationally recognised courses in logistics management by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) international. The three courses — certificate, diploma and advanced diploma — are provided in 30 countries around the world.


ZERO NET CARBON EMISSION - AUSTRALIAN LOGISTICS COUNCIL SETS THE BAR HIGH

At the national energy and environment summit convened by the Australian Logistics Council in Melbourne on 23rd July 2008, the overwhelming majority of delegates supported an aggressive and ambitious goal of zero net carbon emissions for the T&L industry.

The BIG questions for the T&L industry in matters of energy and environment require a considered and reflective response. TALC has commissioned a paper by Dr Guy Pearse, respected author and environmental activist in which he poses 10 key questions for the T&L industry.
