Carbon Trading and the Australian Transport and Logistics industry
By the Editor @ 10:59 AM :: 511 Views :: TALC

Dr Pearse asks the following questions that are relevant to the T&L industry. He poses them in a way that causes the reader to think long and hard about the answers:

  1. Is our industry sustainable?
  2. How do we achieve real cuts of 60% to 80% in carbon emissions?
  3. Are we ready for Peak Oil?
  4. Are we treating enviromental concern as a threat or an opportunity?
  5. Is carbon neutral with carbon credits a good idea?
  6. Are our competitive advantages environmental liabilities?
  7. Are we on the wrong side of the line when it comes to carbon trading?
  8. Are we being blinded by Quarry Vision?
  9. Are we prepared for climate change adaptation impacts?
  10. How does water scarcity impact on us?

TALC offers the Paper as a starting point for further conversations in the T&L industry.

There are a number of workshops across NSW during  July 2008 (Newcastle, Sydney), a Summit in Melbourne on 23rd July 2008 and more to come.

This is a topic that will dominate the T&L industry in coming years.

It is "the elephant in the room".
